This romantic stone house is located on top of the hill of the old town of Vrsar in Istria, Croatia. Next to the castle – the so-called Kaštel, with a view of Učka, the highest mountain in Istria. Only 50 metres from a lookout point with a beautiful view of the sea and the Vrsar archipelago. Only 200 m from the beach, a restaurant, and a children’s playground.

Stone house design – Mediterranean
Interior
The space inside the holiday house has been opened by removing the main partition in the space.
When choosing the interior equipment we searched for modern shapes which would bring in the spirit of past and tradition at the same time.
The main idea of the interior decoration is a blend of the old and the new. The materials used assert the Mediterranean interior.
The central space of the ground floor is occupied by a masonry island kitchen made of natural materials – Istrian stone and oak solid wood. The wall is made as a drywall, and the counter is made of kirmenjak stone.
There are some masonry elements, which is a characteristic of the local ambiance. A part of the space is also a bench, which continues into an open modernly designed fireplace, and a niche for firewood. Masonry stairs are finished to imitate a special type of processed stone (štokani kamen). The rooms are featured with modern equipment combined with elements of antique furniture. The floor is made of bleached oak wood to make the space looked brighter because of small windows.
The first floor has two bedrooms and a Mediterranean bathroom.
Terrace
The stone terrace of the house and furniture made of solid teak wood allow you to spend your leisure time outdoors. Mediterranean herbs, bay leaves, lavender, passion flower, lemon and olive trees give the house an intimate atmosphere in the old town core.
Family activities in the immediate vicinity – around our holiday villa rentals
Only 500 m away there is a new aqua park which offers entertainment for the whole family. In Petalon or in the 2 km distant Plava laguna there are tennis courts, a ski lift, surfing school, miniature golfing, diving, diving schools, and horseback riding. You can ride bicycles along the bike trails which are nearby.
And you can go on a trip to the Brijuni National Park, the city of Pula with the Roman amphitheatre, the protected area Kamenjak, or you can visit the Baredine pit that is located only a few kilometres away … or the interior of Istria – Motovun and Grožnjan.
